Access Control technology is a simple and convenient method of allowing authorised personnel access to an entrance or any restricted area. There are three main components to the system:-
- A proximity card or key tag containing an internal antenna and a chip with a unique ID code
- A reader which validates the card
- An electric or electromagnetic lock
The card and reader communicate with each other using RFID signals,
so sometimes the cards are referred to as RFID cards. The
system works by placing a proximity card or key tag close
to a card reader so that its data can be read. These details are then sent to a controller which then verifies if the cardholder should
be granted or denied access. If access is granted then an
electric or electromagnetic lock is released, or an automatic
gate is activated, or a barrier is raised, etc.
Card identity technology extends the
benefits of access control security systems to organizations
of every size. Whether you manage a few or dozens of doors
and restricted areas, you will find it easy and affordable to
integrate your access control, time and attendance and other functions
into a single card. This technology brings keyless convenience to
physical access control security systems. |
