| TRACK & TRACE | ||
What is it? Track & Trace is a technology which utilises GPS signals to determine the location of an object in the world in degrees longitude and latitude and then sends this information to a receiving device. When placed in a vehicle it is possible to determine its location and even track its course, which is ideal if the vehicle is stolen. Or maybe you just want to check where your husband/wife/employee is. It can also be used to track a person's movements, for example to ensure that your employees are in the correct place at the correct time. Building-in is easy: in a car or truck into the dashboard, for a motorbike under the seat, in plant equipment under the operators chair or on top of the cabin, in a boat or caravan it can be mounted anywhere.

How it works. The device receives satellite signals from at least 4 geostationary satellites according to the GPS system, which is also used for navigation systems. By measuring the signal delay of several satellites the receiver can calculate the location in the world and this position information is sent back to the owner's receiver or mobile phone via GPRS. Personal trackers can be connected to a PC to download the information which can be entered into free websites to visualise the locations or a standard route-finding program can be used.
